New 4x4 Response Vehicle Funded by National Lottery

Some excellent and exciting news this month, and it seems that Christmas has come early for the residents of Rushmoor and Surrey Heath...and maybe just in time for any adverse weather we may experience!...

We have been fortunate enough to be awarded a grant by the Big Lottery Fund in order to purchase a 4x4 response vehicle to help support our work throughout Rushmoor and Surrey Heath. This will enable us to be much more effective in the work that we do, by not only being able to respond to incidents on behalf of South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) in extreme weather conditions, and in remote locations, but it has also been agreed that we will soon have the technology installed in to this vehicle by SECAmb to enable a direct link with the Emergency Control room, so that the emergency dispatchers will be able to send incidents directly to the vehicle and track the vehicle to the location.

This is the first time that this has been done within SECAmb, and we truly believe that it will make a substantial difference to response times and a vast difference in the local community.

Our team work hard and put a lot of their own time in to assist the Ambulance Service in saving lives locally, and this vehicle will further that ability.

Watch this space...and look out for us around the area, give us a wave! We will also be attending local events throughout the year with the vehicle, giving free Basic Life Support and AED training.

A massive thank you to the Big Lottery Fund for their generous assistance with this, it really will make a big difference to the local community!
